Keep ‘em peeled - “Search_Glow”
Is it just me who finds funny applications running in the background on their machine?
Today, I have been aware that “Search_Glow” is active on my laptop.

My spyware detection programmes haven’t highlighted it and now I’m feeling slightly nervous about what else installs itself on my machine. This strengthens the point as to why users really should not have the right to download willy nilly onto business machines. Moreover, feedback mechanisms that are put in place in programs such as QuickTime, iTunes, and Google applications also worry me.
After a quick Internet search I discover that it’s part of the Windows Live Toolbar… everyone seems to be performing System Restores and Registry hacks to delete - surely there’s a better way?
And the button won’t go away unless I delete it from my Task Manager.
Annoying eh? And I still don’t know what the program is doing either… any clues?
*Update*
Thanks to Chris for the heads up on one resolution and some further explanation.
The easiest way to get rid of Search_Glow is by just turning off the Windows Live toolbar. Go to menu item View–>Toolbars and simply uncheck Windows Live Toolbar.
Thanks to Mike I got rid of one, but I have two. Any suggestions?
Thanks
