How many blog posts does it take to announce the release of Office 2007 SP1?

Lots if you’ve subscribed to a fair number of Microsoft blogs! Well here’s one more.

The Service Pack (SP) will now form part of your automatic updates, but for those who have disabled this and want your own copy to do with what you will, here’s the direct download link. Don’t forget that you’ll need to create a new Office image if you deploy on mass rather than PC by PC.

Also, check out the following:

Title of Office 2007 SP1 appears as garbage characters when viewed in ‘add or remove programs’ in control panel

More detail about SP1

p.s. anyone found that SP1 has stopped their indexing in Outlook?

  1. Last time my Outlook 2007 had stopped indexing things, it turned out to be related to my “Power Options”. I came across it thanks to a post on Quent Herschelman’s blog. Basically, Windows will not do any indexing if “Search and Indexing” is in “Power Saver” mode. It might be worth checking your settings. Here’s my blog entry about it, complete with screenshot: http://www.everythingeverything.co.uk/comments.php?id=1827
