Microsoft Office and the revenue opportunity for you

Robbie sent me an email today linking to an article that talks about something what we as Microsoft Partners who play around with this stuff have always said…

I’ve always said (in Robbie’s words):

  • Once people use Office 2007 for a while, they won’t go back
  • Customers need to see Office 2007 in action before they ‘get it’
  • Office 2007 demo’s must focus on the prospect’s own business usage, not just some canned fictional company such as Contoso (consider DemoShowcase?)

Have a read of the article yourself by clicking here.

Office will always be an easier sell than Vista as long as you know what you’re selling. Sorry guys, but that’s the way I see it and I believe that Vista sales may well be on the increase but that’s largely due to ‘tin’ being much more affordable.

Vista will sell a lot better when I, and others don’t have to keep swearing at it as it fails for some reason or another…

… thank you Robbie! :)
