In the last few weeks I have had a very sad addiction to Facebook and it seems that I’m not alone. After I finally gave in to the email invitations to join it, Facebook has had a really positive effect for me personally. I’ve caught up with friends who I haven’t spoken to for years, and although I don’t want to necessarily catch up with every one for a drink, it’s nice to see that everyone is doing well in life.
It’s pretty tough keeping in touch with everyone on the list but those who I have made contact with have found it amusing to see what I have been up to in recent years, particularly with this blog and the work I do within in the community.
I am now at the stage where even they are saying:
“How come you haven’t updated your blog recently?” - and so now the guilt is setting in from people who aren’t even particularly involved in our community! Cheek!
I have two days left here at work, and whilst I am making a quick post to let you know I am alive (Vijay!) so I’m busy tying up loose ends and making sure my move (work- and home-wise) is not too troublesome.
The new job kicks off on Monday and even before I have time to establish a tea ring on the desk I’ll be off to Denver. Already, I have back-to-back meetings but I’m hoping to use some of them for blogging content.
Then I’ll be blogging as much as Vlad again! ![]()
My other half is a Facebook addict and i’ve had a couple of friends ask me when im going to sign up (when…not if!!) but i’ve managed to resist so far!
Hope moving is getting too stressful. Our office move recently was a nightmare so hoping we dont have to do that again for a while!
Good luck for Monday. I’m sure you’ll get straight into it!
Looking forward to hearing about Denver as i can’t go!
Anything in particular you want to hear about Andy?
sorry..that was supposed to read “hope moving isn’t getting too stressful”
doh!
She lives, yeah!
I was just about to email Vlad to see if you were okay?
Just looking at the speaker list two jump out
Tuesday 10 July:
Steve Ballmer, Chief Executive Officer (cos it’s Steve Ballmer!)
Wednesday 11 July:
Steve Guggenheimer, Vice President for Worldwide Small Business and Business Operations, Small and Midmarket Solutions and Partners Group (because he has a really long name..no because he’s talking SBS!)
But in all honestly i’d love to be at this sort of event…i’ve been to technet technical briefings and sales academy days (etc, etc) but nothing “serious” like this
