Microsoft Small Business Summit 2007
One of the benefits of being a Microsoft Small Business Partner is that when you have something on your mind, there is at least one person you can talk to; and I don’t just mean a moan but it’s nice to be able to come up with ideas and suggestions to help shape what the MotherShip offers us.
I get to do a fair bit of this and have been chatting to the Small Business Team in Redmond about what would be good content for this years Small Business Symposium at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Denver. Myself and some other partners had some great discussion and I was really pleased when I spotted Eric Ligman’s post about the Microsoft Small Business Summit as most of our suggestions were already being implemented!
I’ve already read through FIVE DAY (19th-23rd March) agenda and have booked myself in on the online sessions. If you get the time to log on to just a few then you’ll be able to listen to a great range of speakers and experts about subjects that can really help you think about you, your staff, your clients, and your business success.
Previously, the event was a four day online event but this year has been made even bigger with a fifth day focussing on start-up business which is kicked off by the Sloan Brothers. After them (they are v. good at energising the audience) speakers such as the following will be available to cover a variety of business aspects such as security & support, productivity & mobility, financial management, and sales & marketing:
- Kevin Turner (Chief Operating Officer, Microsoft) Solutions for Small Business
- Guy Kawasaki - check out his blog here The Art of Innovation
- Robin Curle (Entrepreneur) Finding New Customers
- Dennis Kneale (Forbes Magazine) Small Business in the Global Age
- Rusty Rueff (SNOCAP) Employee Benefits: Keeping Good People Happy and the Biz Solvent
- Dana Epp - check out his blog here Keep It Legal: Regulatory Process and Compliance - great speaker!
- Gretchen Ritter (Gretchen Ritter LLC) Avoiding Burn Out: Work-Life Balance
There is of course plenty of opporunity to hear more about Vista and 2007 Microsoft Office System (if you haven’t heard enough) as well as our ol’ faithful SBS as well as licensing.
